The by-election on 21st October resulted in a narrow win for Labour. River Ward remains a closely fought marginal. There was a very low turnout of only 26%.
To all those who voted for Andrew Mackness, the Conservative candidate, we thank you. To all traditional Conservative voters who didn't vote on October 21st - we need you back else you could have a Labour River ward and a Labour run council in May 2011! A fearful prospect. Do get in touch.
